ECR Presenter Bursary
This award funds up to £250 for national meetings and up to £400 for international meetings for the Early Career Researchers (ECRs) at the start of their tenured or tenure-track position, who have been accepted for an oral presentation.
Eligibility and how to apply:
- Applicants must be contributing an oral presentation at the meeting.
- Applicants must be early career researchers at the start of their independence (ie tenure track or just started their first tenured position).
- National meetings: Applicants should have been a member of the BSMB for at least 3 calendar months prior to the opening (first day) of the meeting.
- International meetings: Applicants should have been a member of the BSMB for at least a year prior to the opening (first day) of the meeting and have attended at least one BSMB meeting prior to the international meeting.
- Membership subscription status should be up-to-date at the time of sending the application.
- The bursary application must be submitted within the early bird registration window for the relevant meeting.
- Applications will only be considered if they are submitted on a current Bursary form.
- The application should be accompanied by a copy of the abstract to be presented at the meeting and a one page curriculum vitae. Applicants may use the enclosed pro-forma CV.
- Applications should be sent to Kasia Pirog, Chair of the BSMB bursary committee.
Award process
- The applications will be reviewed rapidly by the Committee and applicants will be informed of the outcome in advance of the meeting registration deadline.
- Bursaries will be paid by the Society Treasurer at or soon after the meeting, upon presentation of receipts.
