Post-doc in Liverpool-Stem Cell and Developmental Biology

Postdoctoral Research Associate in Stem Cell and Developmental Biology (Fixed Term; 3 years).

A full-time postdoctoral position in quantitative stem cell and developmental biology is available in the Liverpool Development and Stem Cell Biology Laboratory, headed by principal investigator Dr. David Turner in the Department of Musculoskeletal and Ageing Science at the University of Liverpool.

This BBSRC-funded project, aims to understand how the midline is formed during early mammalian embryogenesis using 3D embryonic stem cell “gastruloid” model, quantitative biochemical techniques, live-cell imaging, immunofluorescence, and multiplexed in situ hybridisation chain reaction. The successful candidate should have a PhD in stem cells/developmental biology or related discipline. Expertise in cell culture and fluorescence microscopy is essential. Some experience in working with mathematicians to develop quantitative, testable models of biological systems is desirable.
